This sample shows recent innovations in traditional technologies.
This aerogel-lime lime plaster base provides an excellent insulating under layer which has the vapour buffering and fast drying associated with lime.
One half of the sample has then been finished with a reddish layer of Roman fine unpolished cocciopesto (opus signinum) finish.
This is a finish similar to the ones used in Roman baths for absorbing steam.
